WASKOM, TX (KSLA) -

Police have arrested a man who shot another man in the chest outside the Exxon station in Waskom, TX.

According to KSLA News 12 viewer Cassie Barnett, who was inside the store at the time, a man pulled up and shot another man in the chest.  Barnett and a store clerk witnessed it all from inside the store.

"I thought the shooter was pulling up to help the man with something, like car trouble.  That's when I looked outside and saw the man with a gun in his hand, and a blood spot on the other man's chest, to the left of center," says Barnett.  That's when Cassie and the store clerk, Donna, went and hid in the corner of the store.

The shooter did not leave the Exxon after gunning the other man down, and was arrested by responding police officers.

Assistant Police Chief Kevin Frazier says "We got a couple from Mississippi, and a couple from Fort Worth. The ones from Fort Worth were meeting halfway with the ones from Mississippi for child custody. They were going to swap out the children.  I don't know if the guy with the gun thought his life was in danger or not.  At this point we just don't know.  But I do know that he had a concealed handgun license."
